Basic rotten bottom rig. One that works. Straight through 80lb mono.

First you need some 80 lb mono line, 2 bead's, one crimp, two hooks for the pennel and an impact shield.
Un-reel some line out of the spool and slide on the crimp followed by a bead, swivel and another bead.

Tie a figure of eight no in the end of the line long enough to accept a impact shield.

Attach the impact shield to the loop.

On the other end of the line slide on a hook and then tie a hook to the end.

Now clip the end hook over the impact shield so you can see where you need to place the crimp.

Crimp the crimp using pliers.

Final Bit rotten bottom...

Attach some 8-10lb mono from the loop to the eye of the weight.

Make up some pins. I've used an old mouse mat.

Push the loop on the end of the rig through the eye of the weight. Spin the weight before hand to twist the rotten bottom line keeping it out of the way.

Pus the pin in the protruding bit of the loop coming out the eye.

Don't forget two wet all knots before pulling tight.

This is the cheapest RB rig I know. You can do away with the Impact Shield and use a loop made from two figure of eight knots. Push both figure of eight knot loops through eye of weight. You then have a loop to act as a bait clip. It's quite good because the hook can't fall out of the bait clip loop.
